The residents from the Quebec towns of Kahnawake, Delson and Lacolle braved chilly November weather to help launch the CP Holiday train as it made its way out of Quebec to begin its U.S. run. The U.S. train gets a one-day head start in Quebec, so these residents were the first to see the 2012 train in action. At each event, the spirit of the season was evident as the towns decorated their streets in festive colors to celebrate the arrival of the train.
For the town of Delson, it was its first ever Holiday Train event. They marked the special occasion by arranging for ‘snow’ (the fake kind), and fireworks. Local resident Pierre Lussier was overwhelmed by the turnout, which also attracted people from many neighbouring towns, resulting in well over a few thousand in attendance. "It is wonderful to see such a turnout, not only for the train, but for the support that the local food banks will be receiving."
