Great community organization and commitment was evident at Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, when the Holiday Train pulled for its stop on Wednesday, December 10th. A great crowd greeted the train. A very well organized food drop off area was set up, with coffee and hot chocolate being served. A separate public address system was even set up to warm up the crowd before the train arrived, and announced the winners of a special locally organized Holiday Train raffle draw at the conclusion of the the Holiday Train show. The crowd was moved when Lisa Williams, of the Central Wisconsin Community Action Council spoke, choked-up with emotion, about how important the Holiday Train is to it in assisting people in need in their community. She informed us that in addition to the food and money raised at the Holiday Train event, which is their biggest donation raising event, it raised awareness of their organization in the community, motivating other businesses in Wisconsin Dells, together, to donate $10,000 to it as well. She stated that this raised awareness and ultimately the additional donations were the direct result of the Holiday Train stop. Randy M.
