The Southern Ontario leg of the Holiday Train began at 06:15 Monday morning with a gentle pull out of the St. Luc yard. The weather has been decidedly un-seasonable-like with temperatures above freezing and some nasty rain. No worries; we bring our own good cheer. It was a travel day with crew changes in Smiths Falls and Toronto that brought us to a 20:00 curtain call in Hamilton. There were easily 3,000 people anxiously waiting for us. For the Greater Hamilton Food Share’s Joanne Santucci, the Holiday Train’s arrival signals the kick off of the Christmas spirit in Hamilton. The young kids in the crowd just love Santa’s opening rap act and the rest of us are captivated by the music of Shaun and Melanie. Bob K.
